Looking For Sponsors
Scott "Woody"
3-22-99---Mr. Hanky’s Heroes are the winners of NEPL’s first 1999 tournament in the novice division. The Calimari Tournament held at Paintball Heaven in Bridgewater, MA had a great turnout. 14 novice teams and 32 teams total. 5-5-99---We took a vote on whether or not to stay in novice or advance to intermediate. 3-2 to stay in novice. Woody and Rick want to try thier luck in intermediate. A good friend of our just opened a paintball store in Beverly, MA. He is an excellent gun mechanic and as a mechanical engineer has invented a couple of his own rig modifications. Help support this big move and visit his store. We ask any Paintball loving businesses out there for any help you can provide. In exchange for sponsorship we will vigorously and genuinely support and advertise your company on our tournaments. We are also open to any other suggestions you may find helpful to attain your support.
5-17-99---Well, it’s official… …We Stunk up the place! At the Cape Cod Paintball tournament on 5-16-99 in New Bedford, we came to play but forgot to bring our talent. We stunk up the place. There were a wicked lot of teams that showed up and we all had a blast. It was a very frustrating day. Game 1: Score: -2 (hot gun) Game 2: Score: 12 (we got 4 of them) Game 3: Score: 25 (flag possession) Game: 4 Score: (?)(One of them got away with playing with 2 obvious hits; the guy ran away from the paint check and took out our last guy.) Game 5: Score: (?)(We were competitive but lost anyway.) Game 6: Score: (?)(Again, we were competitive but came up short.)
7-11-99---Boston Paintball South. Mr. Hanky’s Heroes had a fairly good performance this time out. We won 4 out of six games and placed 5th in the preliminaries. We advanced to the playoffs because they took the top 8 teams. The first round of the playoffs was single elimination. We were eliminated by N-RAGE. They are a good team. They placed 4th in the prelims. We played them in the last game of the prelims and lost. 2 hours later we played them in the first game of the playoffs. We lost again. What great battle our teams put up in both games. The staff said that we had one of the best battles they saw all day.
Mr. Hanky’s heroes left their mark on Tammy from the Black Widows. She had a key position behind a boulder on the top of a hill. Bret and I set out to take that position out. She kept us busy for quite a while. As we were advancing Bret’s gun malfunctioned. It left him with a gun that he had to cock before each shot. Tammy engaged my side of the rock and had a few balls come very close. I couldn't back down knowing Bret was advancing on her blind side. We traded fire and Bret reached the rock. He reached around the rock apologized, then took a single shot at her from about 3ft away hitting her in the leg. She came by later to thank Bret for the multicolored bruise about the size of a softball. The Black Widows are by far the best sportsmen (forgive the gendered word)in the bunch. They don’t whine about anything they play fair and they don’t expect any special treatment. Our respect goes out to them and we hope to see them in the next tourney. Tammy said that she'd take picture of it and post it on The Black Widow's website. Check it out. Thanks. Sign the guestbook or e-mail me at frederickson@tafa.com.
